Some say he’s from another planet, other say that he’s from the future, but did he really win eight gold medals or was it a conspiracy?

The American swimming sensation won his 7th gold medal by winning the 100 meters butterfly, but not everyone is convinced that he really did. After looking at the official footage it is very understandable why the camp of Milorad Cavic put in a protest.

China has embarrassed themselves by pulling a Milli Vanilli stunt during the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. Lin Miaoke, the cute Chinese girl with the golden voice that made our hearts melt, was miming to a recording by another girl, Yang Peiyi.

Yang Peiyi didn’t make it into the ceremony because she didn’t had the right image; she was not pretty enough and had uneven teeth. After the performance of the opening ceremony Lin Miaoke got flooded with commercial offers but she got outed as a fake.

Music chief Chen said:

“It was the image of our national music, our national culture. And especially since it accompanied the arrival of the national flag in the arena, this was an extremely serious matter. In the end the change resulted in “a perfect voice and perfect image, merged together”. “

But the signing was not the only thing that was manipulated. According to the The Beijing Times the 55-second, 29-sequence firework footprints exploding their way up Beijing’s central axis was “mostly an animated three-dimensional video that was made over a year. It was not actually live footage except the final stage” at the stadium itself.

During the re-started World Supersport race a horrific accident happened. British rider Craig Jones lost control of his Honda bike through the fast Clark Curve towards the end of the lap, while he was battling for his first WSS win in his home event.

The 23-year old rider lost the rear of his Honda, sliding almost completely sideways before being thrown violently backwards onto the asphalt. Australian rider Andrew Pitt attempted to avoid him, but he was left with nowhere to go and clipped Craig Jones on the head. Craig Jones then spiralled uncontrollably down the track. The race was immediately stopped and Jones was later diagnosed with a serious head injury.

When I saw this accident happen I feared the worst. I was screaming at the TV for the Marshall’s to stop the race before other riders would hit Craig Jones who was laying on the track unconscious. Despite the horrible accident Craig Jones was awarded second position in the race. Everyone was waiting for some updates on his condition, but non were given other than that he was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital. Unfortunately I just read the news that Craig Jones has lost the fight for his life.

I would like to send my deepest sympathies to Craig’s family and friends.

It seems to become a trend among the celebrities; pimping out the newborns for a nice amount of spare cash in the bank. Not long ago it was J-Lo who pimped out her newborn for six million dollars on the cover of People’s Magazine. Now the news is going around that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will pimp out their newborn twins for a whopping 14 million dollars.

I find it a bit ironic that the celebs have no problem selling the rights to the pictures of their new born while so many of them are complaining about how unethical it is for the paparazzi to take pictures of their kids. I can understand that the celebs want the paparazzi to back off and leave their kids alone. I would feel the same way. BUT… don’t pimp out your kids and then complain at a later stage that you don’t want to see your kids in the magazines.

According to the news articles the 14 million dollars that Brangelina will receive for their baby pictures will be donated into a fund that will focus on helping children all around the world. You would think that both movie stars would have enough star power to raise the money in a different way than pimping out their newborns.

Yesterday I heard the news about a 6 year old boy who died in a swimming pool near my home town in Holland. He was going off the slide in a swimming pool located at a camping. At the top of the slide he blocked the water until there was enough to increase his speed going down the slide. He had build up so much speed that he ended up hitting his head at the wall on the opposite side of the pool. Result: a broken neck and ultimately dead. They tried to resuscitate but it was already too late.

There were no lifeguards on duty. There usually isn’t one in a swimming pool on a camping or caravan park. It kind of made me wonder where the parents were. No one noticed until he was already dead. Wasn’t anyone watching this kid? I would never let my child swim unsupervised anywhere. An accident can happen just like that. It is the responsibility of a parent to always watch their children.

A story like this really saddens me. As a lifeguard I know all the dangers of a swimming pool. What he did is a common thing for kids to do. I understand that it’s fun to do, but people don’t realize how dangerous it is. Maybe an accident like this will wake them up and open up some eyes.

Last April a horrible accident happened in the swimming pool of Hotel Stone Palace in Colakli, Turkey. The guts of a four year old Dutch girl named Lieke Krebber got sucked out by a swimming pool pump. I don’t know about you, but I am horrified by it. I get a sick feeling in my stomach by just thinking about it. The poor girl barely survived and has already had four surgeries.

So how did this horrific accident happen?

The family Krebber-Bramel was on holiday in Colakli when they went swimming in the swimming pool of the Stone Palace Hotel. The four year old girl was playing in a pool of 50 centimeters deep. The parents thought it would be safe enough to let her play there by herself because Lieke was already having swimming lessons in water that is 1.20 meters deep. Her parents left her there by herself and disappeared to a swimming pool outside.

The roster that is usually covering the water discharge drain was gone. The result: The powerful suction of the swimming pool pump sucked Lieke to the drain and sucked her guts out. The poor girl would have been dead if she had not been saved by another Dutch couple. The couple held her head above water, stopped the suction and dragged her out of the drain.

Who is to blame?

The parents are suing the Hotel Stone Palace in Colakli. Rightly so in my opinion, because they should have had a roster on that drain. Unfortunately this is not the first time an accident has happened because the suction of a swimming pool pump is so powerful. People have died because of this. The swimming pools always have to make sure that their pool is safe to swim in. I have heard (although I don’t have that confirmed) that the hotel had been notified of the missing roster twice before the accident actually happened. If that is true than that is very, very neglectful.

But, even though I think the swimming pool is definitely at fault, my first thought when I heard this story was: Where were the parents? Why on earth would you leave a four year old girl all alone? Don’t they know that a pool of 50 cm deep is still enough to drown in? As a parent you are responsible for your own child!!!! You should never leave your child alone in a pool if it can’t swim.

How about the lifeguards? From what I have heard I am not sure if they had lifeguards on duty. I know a lot of hotels don’t have lifeguards and you can swim on your own risk. If they did have lifeguards on duty I think they should have a) closed that pool because it wasn’t safe to swim in b) paid more attention to what happened and save that girl instead of that other couple.

This accident was horrific and the poor girl will have to live with the consequences for the rest of her life.

If you didn’t see the GP of Laguna Seca than you have missed one of the most exciting battles in MotoGP history. Wow, what a race!!! Casey Stoner had been dominating the practice and qualifying session big time, but when it was race time Valentino Rossi stuck it to him.

The current MotoGP world champion doesn’t know what it’s like to battle and prefers to win his race with a big margin. I guess he forgot what it’s like to race shoulder to shoulder! After the race he showed what a big loser he is by refusing to shake Valentino Rossi’s hand and by telling him that he lost respect for him. How pathetic is that? Valentino Rossi deserved that win fair and square. Casey, how about taking up chess?
