I have been a fan of Forrest Griffin ever since he won the first Ultimate Fighter series. You got to love a guy who likes to kick some ass and get his own ass whooped. So of course I was glued to the TV when UFC86 came on TV. The main event of UFC86 was the fight between Forrest Griffin and Quinton Jackson. There was no doubt in my mind that Forrest could win that fight. He has shown that no matter how hurt he is, he won’t give up.
I was delighted that the fight went for the full five rounds. It was a sit-on-the-edge-of-my-seat fight with Griffin jacking up the leg of Jackson with some great leg kicks. But ‘Rampage’ has heavy hands and Griffin copped some good punches too. All in all, an awesome fight to watch. Well done Forrest!!!
The official results for UFC86:
- Forrest Griffin def. Quinton Jackson (48-46, 48-46, 49-46)
- Patrick Cote def. Ricardo Almeida via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
- Joe Stevenson def. Gleison Tibau via submission (guillotine choke) — Round 2, 2:57
- Josh Koscheck def. Chris Lylte via unanimous decision (30-26, 29-27, 30-28)
- Tyson Griffin def. Marcus Aurelio via unanimous decision
- Gabriel Gonzaga def. Justin McCully via submission (kimura) — Round 1, 1:57
- Cole Miller def. Jorge Gurgel via submission (triangle choke) — Round 3, 4:48
- Melvin Guillard def. Dennis Siver via KO (punches) — Round 1, 0:36
- Justin Buchholz def. Corey Hill via submission (rear naked choke) — Round 2, 3:57

So today I read in the newspaper that French serial killer Charles Sobhraj, also called The Serpent or Bikini Killer, wants to get married with his girlfriend Nihita Biswas. His girlfriend - who’s 44 years younger - met the serial killer when she applied for a job as translator for his French lawyer.
Charles Sobhraj admitted to killing several Western tourists and has been convicted in Nepal for killing a Canadian tourist. They suspect that in the seventies he killed at least twelve people. Why on earth a young, attractive girl would like to get married with such a creep is beyond me. It makes me wonder if she has a few wires disconnected in her head.
The only way this ‘fairy-tale’ wedding can be prevented is if his appeal in supreme court gets denied. Nihita Biswas is convinced that her boyfriend we’ll walk away a free man. She told reporters that when that happens they will get married in France.
I know that women rather have a ‘bad’ boy then a nerd, but come on… A 64-year old serial killer? Do you really want to waste your life like that?

Yesterday it was Canada Day. If you have surfed around the world wide web there is no way that you could have missed that piece of information. Canadians are proud people; they are proud of their country and if you ever have the chance to meet a Canadian on the loose in a different country than Canada you will know what I mean.
The first time I ever met a Canadian there was no way I could have missed that he was from Canada. He had Canadian flags everywhere; on his backpack, his wallet, his t-shirt and he even had a maple leaf tattooed on his arm. Coming from a country where they call you a fascist, racist and neo-Nazi when you walk around with a Dutch flag on your bomber jacket, you can understand my first reaction; “He either really loves his country or he must really hate foreigners!”
Never shy to confront someone, I asked him why on earth he was covered with Canadian flags. His answer was simple: “I don’t want to be confused with an American and I love my country.” I always thought that going over the top and doing things bigger and better was the American way of life. How wrong was I?
It was not just that guy that was covered in Canadian flags. No… every Canadian that I meet during my travels has at least two objects with a Canadian flag. Every now and then you meet a Canadian in disguise. But if you get him drunk enough sooner or later they will drop their pants and you can see that they have the Canadian flag or maple leaf tattooed on their ass.
So when I heard that it was Canada day yesterday I got this mental picture in my head about what Canada day must be like. I bet all Canadians have their national flag hanging out the window. They all go out and get tattoos of Canadian flags or maple leafs and buy badges of the Canadian flag in bulk so they can sew it to every little piece of material they own. They do this while they drink Canadian beer or whine and listen to Canadian music and munch on Canadian snacks. I bet they have the time of their lives!
Ps. I love Canadians, they are lovely people!
